Set half a mile down a track in the grounds of Burnley Hall is the forgotten old church of St Mary, East Somerton, this ruin is perhaps the most dramatic in all East Anglia, now totally overgrown with ivy and elder.
On entering the vast walls you are taken a back by a huge oak tree growing right in the middle of the nave, a quite unbelievable sight!
