A perfectly still summer’s night not a breath of wind leaving the branches of the adjacent trees motionless and mirror like reflection in the river, immaculately lit by a single floodlight This idyllic little bridge consists of a single arch (44 feet span) of Portland stone, with beautiful cast iron railings. The bridge was opened 3rd December 1783 at a massive cost of £1,290. |
