Stillness

Stillness 20"x16" Selenium Toned Print
The River Wensum March 2007. Bintree Mill on a perfectly still spring night.
After arranging with the owner for the floodlights to be put on, I arrived to find the lights were not as powerful as I had hoped.
I spent around 30 minutes trying to work out an exposure, but decided to put the meter back in the bag as it was telling me “forget it”
I was reluctant to walk away from this beautiful composition, as I wanted to include it in an after dark project I was working on, so decided to work out a rough exposure from experience and hopefully a bit of luck, after developing the film I was pleasantly surprised with the result that you can see here.
