Symmetry

20"x16" selenium toned print
Careful use of a 180-degree angle of view lens, to obtain perfect symmetry, adds drama and accentuates this spectacular location.
This image of the cloisters of Norwich Cathedral was a year or so in the planning.
The ideal lighting direction and bright early morning sunlight had to be combined with the chance of a visitor free period of the day.

By Chris Sanham (Cathedral Verger): Symmetry catches a brief glimpse, of how cool and peaceful Norwich Cathedral Cloisters can be. A few moments later you could have seen the Choir boys playing Cricket in the summer or perhaps football in winter before choir practice, or may be the many numerous visitors and functions held in the cloisters. Symmetry catches ans some how just reminds me of how peaceful the cloisters can be.
